Mangalore, Feb 11: The Federation of Indian Rationalist Associations (FIRA) and Dakshina Kannada Rationalist Associations will organize a lecture and interaction sessions with Dr Fritz Erik Hoevels and his student Simone Reissner at the auditorium of Canara College here on Thursday February 15 from 5 to 7 pm.
A press release from FIRA president Narendra Nayak stated that The lectures will be in English followed by interactions. All those who are interested are welcome to attend.
Dr Fritz Erik Hoevels will speak on 'Rise and Decay of the Tolerance Principles from Voltaire to our Days' while Simone Reissner will speak on 'Religious Belief - How does it Work? The Answers of Modern Academic Psychology.'
About Dr Fritz Erik Hoevels:
Fritz Erik Hoevels, PhD, BSc (psychology) was born in Frankfurt on January 6, 1948. He studied psychology and classical philology and is a practising psycho-analyst. His most important books "Marxismus, Psychoanalyse, Politik" and "Wilhelm Reichs Beitrag zur Psychoanalyse" have been published by AHRIMAN publishing house; furthermore, he has published a considerable number of scientific studies on applied psycho-analysis which have appeared in scientific journals such as "Hermes" (Franz Steiner Verlag), "Praxis der Psychotherapie" (Springer) and "System ubw" (AHRIMAN-Verlag) as well as political essays and treatises published in the periodical "Ketzerbriefe" (AHRIMAN Verlag). Some of his works have been translated into other languages.
About Simone Reissner:
Simone Reissner, BSc (Psychology), born in 1979, studied psychology at the university of Freiburg and published several articles in the periodical "System ubw" ( eg psycho-analytical studies about fairy tales or Oscar Wilde) and in the journal "Ketzerbriefe". She presently works at a psychiatric and neurological hospital and is doing her doctorate research at the university of Zürich.
