Mangalore, Feb 11: BJP Yuva Morcha of the district will launch an agitation rally on Wednesday February 13 against the conspiracy of making the peaceful district another hideout for terrorist outfits, announced Sreekar Prabhu, a district BJP leader here at a press conference on Monday February 11.
Addressing media persons, the district leader said the rally will be taken out from BJP office and culminated at the office of deputy commissioner. A memorandum will be submitted to the DC during which many leaders of the party will be present, he added.
The rally is a part of BJP's anti-terrorist campaign. The rally will address various issues that are making headlines in recent times that make the district no longer safe and peaceful, he briefed.
He was of the opinion that 'it is high time stringent action is action is taken like imposing a permanent ban on anti-social associations like KFD which is another form of the banned organization namely the Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI).' He also urged the authorities to send the leaders of the banned organization behind bars.
The arms training camps of the terrorists 'have reached our doorsteps;' if proper actions are not taken to curb the threat then the situation would take ugly turn. It is improper to say all madarasas are involved in anti-social activities, but it is the need of the hour to keep an eye on madarasas which may involve in such undesirable activities keeping the interest of people of the nation in mind.
Premananda Shetty, Harish Kumar, Guruprasad Shetty, Karunakar Perodi and others of the morcha and BJP were present at the press conference.
