Kasargod, Jan 23: In an accident which occurred near Vamanjur check post, Manjeshwar in the district, late night on Sunday January 22, a person lost his life, while two others were critically injured. The accident occurred when the car went out of the control of its driver before diving into a gorge and toppling down.

The deceased has been identified as Samshuddin (28). He died on the spot. Two others, Muhammed Amir (30) and Abdul Latif (29) from Uppala Kukkar here sustained serious injuries. Both of them stand admitted into the intensive care unit of a hospital here, while the body of the victim was kept in the community health centre at Mangalpady.

The accident took place near Uppala bridge. The Maruti Alto car involved with this accident was badly mangled in the mishap.

The police lifted the car out of the gorge and took it to their police station. Mangalpady station police personnel who took steps to begin investigation into this accident, registered the case.

As per information, a gun was found inside the car which met with this accident. Policemen is said they are also investigating how the gun came there and to whom does it belong.
