Mangalore, Feb 10: “Unemployment and Naxal movement should be wiped out at any cost,” said Mohiudin Bava, managing director of Mangala Lime and Marine Industries.
He was addressing the gathering at the 6th annual day celebrations of Malnad Youth Association of city held at Shanthi Nilaya, Balmatta, here on Sunday, February 10.
The collective effort would be highly essential to eradicate the social evils, such as cross border terrorism which India has been facing since the past few years. We will have to unite in order to sweep away any undesirable elements like terrorism, Naxal menace and unemployment. When every Indian loves fellow national, the terrorism would exit once for all, he added.
According to him, the spate of the communal violence has been disgrace to otherwise peaceful populace of undivided Dakshina Kannada district. The outbreak of violence prevails in the region because of lack of unity. Every one in the civilized society should strive to repulse communal flare-ups and promote love and harmony. The prosperity of the nation largely rests on the unity. The secularism should be the mantra of the nation if the country has to prosper and remain peaceful.
No child would know which religion it belongs in the early three years. It becomes aware of the religion, only when it begins to attend children’s nursery. 'We need to discard the manipulation of caste and creed; thereby accept the secularism both in words and deeds,' he added.
Rakesh Malli, president of Indian National Trade Union Congress (INTUC) delivered the inaugural address. Diganth, a native of Malnad and Kannada actor of ‘Mungaru Male’ fame was honoured on the same occasion.
Sucharitha Shetty, president of Dakshina Kannada Zillah Panchayat, was the chief guest present at the occasion.
