Mangalore, Feb 7: 'Vision 2008' an exhibition-cum-sale of artifacts will be held at Kadri Park here on Saturday February 9 and Sunday February 10.
The exhibition-cum-sale will be inaugurated by deputy commissioner Maheshwar Rao. The inaugural ceremony will be chaired by S Dheerendra, AGM of SBI zonal office, informed Mahabala Marla, president of Shree Ganesha Seva Trust for Exceptional Persons speaking to press persons here on Thursday February 7.
Inmates of Saanidhya, a residential school and training centre for the mentally challenged, will display artifacts that they made under the guidance of trainers. Spandana 2008, the brochure of the fund raising programme for the construction of Saanidhya's school building will be released on the occasion, he added.
V Venu Madhav, manager operations of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) and Prakash Shetty, chairman and managing director of the Bangalore based MRG group and Dr C G Nagaraju, deputy director of the horticulture department will be guests of honour, he added.
The exhibition-cum-sale will be organized in association with State Bank of India mainly to encourage the hidden talent among the mentally challenged and exceptional persons and thus bring them to the main stream, he added.
M B Devdas Rao, vice-president, Vasant Kumar Shetty, joint secretary, Jagadish Shetty, treasurer and others were present at the press conference.
