Mangalore, Feb 5: A total of 22 children’s films in various Indian languages will be screened in threatres in and around the city from Monday February 18 to Thursday February 21, as part of Children’s National Film Fest, said Nanjunde Gowda, president of Children’s India.
Speaking at a press conference here on Monday February 4 he said that various films will be screend for students in the city, in Bangalore, Hassan and Mysore as part of Children’s National Film Fest. The film shows will begin at 9 am and 11 am in selected theatres. All the expenses related to the fest will be borne by Childrens’ India, he informed.
Childrens’ India is also engaged in training children in animation art, organizing film appreciation course, conducting ethnic dress competitions etc. It has succeeded in securing subsidy of Rs 25 lac for a children’s film in Kannada, he added.
This is the fourth time Children’s India is organizing film festival in the state. It will incur an expenditure of Rs 60 lac for the fest, out of which a grant of Rs 20 lacs is expected from the state administration. The rest will be borne by the well wishers spread all over the state, he said.
