Mangalore, Feb 4: With a view to promote tourism in the district, a tourism conclave will be organized by the state department of tourism in association with Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the district administration at Karnataka Bank auditorium, Kodialbail here on Tuesday February 5, stated a press release.
The press release from the assistant director, department of tourism here has requested people, entrepreneurs involved in tourism activities and those willing to invest and give their land for promotion of tourism in the district to attend the conclave.
Earlier, speaking to media persons KCCI president Kumble Narasimha Prabhu said that the chairman and managing director of Corporation Bank B Sambamurthy will be inaugurating the seminar, while state tourism department secretary I M Vittal Murthy will be chief guest. D K zilla panchayat president K P Sucharita Shetty will preside over the function.
Various important matters pertaining to tourism, including pilgrimage, culture, medical tourism, education, infrastructure, adventure and marketing will be dealt with during the course of the seminar. The highlight of the seminar will be on home stay facilities and those keen on venturing into home stay are requested to register with KCCI and attend the conclave.
On successful completion of this conclave a state-level tourism summit will be organised by the state government in Bangalore on Thursday February 14.
Further, according to K N Prabhu extensive and concrete plans for the district will be drawn-up including an aqua marine park and international golf course at Tannirbavi, he added. Others present were KCCI vice-president Srinivas S Kamath and treasurer M Ahmed Bava.
