Udupi, Dec 16: The body of a young lady, who had gone missing from Kutyaru near Shirva, Katapadi near here three days back, was found from the well of a farm on Thursday December 15.

After Manjula (24), daughter of Sanjeeva Moolya from Ujoor in Kutyaru village went missing, the family members had tried their best to find her whereabouts. After leaving home on Monday with the stated purpose of visiting a bank, she had not come back and there was no clue where she went. Manjula's father had filed a missing complaint at Shirva police station.

The body of Manjula was found from a well inside a farm owned by Sudhakar Shetty. This well is located about 500 metres away from her house. The body was decomposed, indicating that she would have died three days earlier.

It is said that the girl was in love with a youth but because the lovers belonged to different castes, chances of them getting married was bleak. In all probability, distressed over this issue, the girl would have committed suicide, it is surmised.

The missing case has been changed to unnatural death. Policemen have begun investigation to clear the air of suspicion surrounding this death.
