Mangaluru: ICYM hands over NYC Cross to south deanery

Mangaluru, Dec 15: The National Youth Convention (NYC) Cross which arrived to ECD after travelling to other parts of Karnataka was welcomed at Rosario Cathedral on Sunday December 11 at 3.30 pm. The Cross was later kept at ECD for 3 days.

A taize prayer was held on December 12 at 6 pm at Rosario cultural hall and conducted by brother Norbert Misquith. On December 13 a Mass was celebrated by Fr J B Crasta, vicar forane followed by adoration of the Cross conducted by Fr Paul D’Souza, assistant parish priest Rosario Cathedral. On December 14 the Cross was handed over to south deanery at 4.30 pm.

During the handing over, the director of the ICYM ECD, Fr Anil Roshan Lobo and president of ECD, Leon Loyd Saldanha along with other members handed over the Cross to south deanery vicar forane Fr J B Saldanha, ICYM director Fr Elias Dsouza and ICYM president Roshan.

The Cross was later kept at St Sebastian Church, Permanur. ICYM south deanery president Roshan welcomed the gathering. Fr Elias D'Souza, director of ICYM south deanery conducted the prayer service.

Fr Praveen Joy D'Souza and Fr Donald Nielsh Crasta assistant parish priest and Fr Ashwin D'Souza- RushiVana, brother Trinson D'Souza, Permannur and other deanery ICYM committee members, ICYM Permannur unit members and Bethany Sisters were present at the occasion.
