Paytm joins NHAI for cashless payments at toll booths

New Delhi, Dec 14 (IANS): Mobile payment and e-commerce platform Paytm on Wednesday announced its partnership with the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to enable cashless payments at all state, national and city toll plazas across the country.

Commuters can now pay their toll instantly by scanning the QR code placed at the toll payment counters using the Paytm app, the company said in a statement.

"Users can now pay toll tax with Paytm at all major toll plazas across the country, enabling the transportation sector transition to a digital economy," said Kiran Vasireddy, Senior Vice President, Paytm.

Paytm is currently accepted across taxis, petrol pumps, grocery shops, restaurants, coffee shops, multiplexes, parking, hospitals and some other facilities.
