Bantwal: Ganja trafficking - two from Salethur arrested

Bantwal, Dec 12: Two persons were held at Manchi Pattumudi in the taluk for transporting and sale of ganja. They have been identified as Jalaluddin (28) from Salethur Medu, and Imran (28) from Salethur Kattattilla. The arrests were made by a team of policemen led by police circle inspector from the town station, B K Manjaiah, on Sunday December 11.

The police were checking vehicles at Manchi Pattumudi when the above two persons came that way riding a Honda Activa vehicle. When the vehicle was signalled to stop, the two tried to abandon the vehicle and run away. The policemen chased them successfully and found that they were in possession of about 1,100 grams of ganja.

During the questioning, the duo confessed that they were involved with bringing ganja from Kerala and supplying the same to the needy by charging them a higher price.

The police personnel are investigating the case further.
