Mangaluru, Dec 9: If students respect the college and the teachers teaching them, then only is their education complete," said Dr Ismail N, principal of Badria Pre- University College Mangaluru. He addressed the annual day programme of Milagres Pre-University College on Thursday December 8.
"For a college to achieve success, the academic discipline, the support of the parents and students themselves is important and essential. But if the students do not respect the teachers or the institutional heads, then their education is incomplete."
Lauding the college on achieving 87% result in the last academic year, he said that being a college that accepts students mostly from the outskirts of the city and neighbouring states is a rare feat.
While rendering his presidential address, the correspondent of the college Fr Valerian D'Souza said that students must dream high in order to become successful in their respective fields. "The college with a history of over hundred years has many of its alumni in various fields across the globe, but before you pursue your dream you must become a good human being. I call upon every human being present here to become a good human being," he said.
Principal of the college professor John Pais presented the annual report of the college.
The dignitaries felicitated achievers in academics and sports fields.
Professor Nambiar welcomed the gathering while Juliet Pinto rendered the vote of thanks.
Prajwal Pereira compered the programme.
PTA president K P Ismail, president of the student council Mohammed Ismail, secretary Nachiketh and others were present at the occasion.
Spectacular cultural programmes were also held before and after the formal stage programme.
