Margao, Jan 19: At least 50 people from Salcete were admitted in different hospitals on Thursday January 17 and Friday January 18, suspected of suffering from food poisoning after eating chicken rolls.
According to sources, the incident occured at Varca where they had taken part in a wedding anniversary celebrations. Those who had chicken rolls at the function suffered from stomach ache and vomiting after the programme.
Simir Furtado and Michael Sequeira have been admitted in Hospicio Hospital, Margao while another ten people are undergoing treatment in a private hospital in Margao.
When contacted Colva police said that no complaint has been so far. The police will investigate if someone files a complaint, they said.
Sources revealed that a famous bakery from Varca had taken the order of preparing chicken rolls for the party.
