Oman, Nov 8: The Mangalorean Roman Catholic Cricket Tournament, hosted by the Al Hail School of Cricket, will be held at the Al Hail Cricket Grounds, commencing at 7.00 pm onwards on Thursday November 24.
The inaugural event, sponsored by Oasis Water, Arabian Concepts Tradg and Pocari Sweat, which will be held under floodlight aims to promote and engage the MRC youth to provide them a platform through cricket to express themselves.
Only Roman Catholic Mangalureans with valid resident card holders are eligible to take part in this tournament. There will be no entry fee for the tournament. The tournament format will entail 10 teams which will be distributed into 3 groups. Each group will consist of a distribution of 4, 3 and 3 teams respectively. Top one team from 'A' group will qualify straight to the finals. The top 1 each, teams from 'B' and 'C' groups will play a semifinal and winner of this match will qualify for the Grand Finals.

Al Hail Cricket Academy chief, Moula Baksh Al Balushi, expressed immense pride at his academy’s bid to host the inaugural event and stated that he was proud to facilitate the participation and growth of cricket amongst the local cultural sectors in Oman.
