Kundapur, Nov 5: Pro-Hindu organisations have submitted a petition to the Assistant Commissioner here opposing the celebration of Tippu's birth anniversary.

“There are several leaders known for patriotism and participated in freedom struggle. It is not fair to ignore them and celebrate the birth anniversary of Tippu Sultan, who had ruled his kingdom through conversions”, they stated, expressing anguish.



Siddaramaiah government which is taking a special interest to please a particular religion should take an appropriate decision before provoking Hindus. The state government should clarify the reason for a special initiative which was absent for the last sixty-five years. It should prevent unrest due to birth anniversary celebrations in the coastal region which is known for peace,” they urged.

Committee convener Sudheer Kundapur, local RSS executive member Subrahmanya Holla, district co-convener of Bajrang Dal Girish Kundapur, Taluk co-convener Surendra Markodu, Kundapur constituency BJP president Suresh Shetty Kadooru, chief secretary Shanker Ankadakatte, Jagarana Vedike leader Ashok Kaveri, Yuva Morcha secretary Pradeep Sangam, Santhosh and others were present.
