Mangaluru, Nov 5: In a complaint filed in Mulky police station, an old woman has alleged that she was attacked by a gang of which zilla panchayat vice president was a member, on frivolous issue. She suffered injuries in this incident and got admitted into a hospital.
The senior citizen who has made this allegation happens to be Shanta Devadiga, a resident of Pakshikere near Kinnigoli.
It is gathered that Bhojaraj, son of Shanta, who is specially abled, has been operating a poultry farm near his home. He had set up the farm about a year back after obtaining no objection letter from neighbours and licence from the gram panchayat. It is said that a local had complained against this activity to Kemral gram panchayat.
Reportedly, pertaining to the complaint, zilla panchayat vice president, Kasturi Panja, taluk panchayat member, Vajrakshi Shetty, Kemral gram panchayat president, Nagesh, member, Sudhakar Shetty and a local named Sheshappa came to the poultry farm along with some ruffians and warned the mother-son duo against operating the poultry farm there. The gang had verbal altercation with Shanta on the issue. Bhojaraj stated that at the end, the gang members posed threats and launched murderous attack on his mother in the presence of police personnel.
Shanta, who has got admitted into a hospital in the city, has filed complaint in Mulky police station.
