Rajasthan sees Rs 7,000-cr investment deals at Agritech meet

New Delhi, Nov 5 (IANS): The Rajasthan government is expecting an investment of about Rs 7,000 crore at its Agritech meet in Jaipur next week, said state Agriculture Minister Prabhu Lal Saini on Friday.

"The government has already signed memorandums of understanding worth Rs 4,000 crore so far and we are expecting an investment of another Rs 3,000 crore during the meet, Global Rajasthan Agritech Meet (GRAM)," Saini told the media at a press meet.

The three-day event will be held on November 9-11 and is expected to be attended by around 50,000 farmers and 200 industry players.

"We have taken up several initiatives and measures to double up farmers' income. The meet is aimed at empowerment of farmers in our state," the minister said.

"In latest NITI Ayog's ranking, we are at the third position. Advanced and best practices will be showcased and discussed during the meet. We are expecting investment even from foreign countries, like Israel and Australia," Saini added.
