Dubai, Oct 26 (Emirates 247) : Dubai Police issued a violation against the car of the 5 D number plate after he violated the traffic law and parked in a parking for people with special needs said Lieutenant General Khamis Mattar Al Mazina the Dubai commander in Chief reported Emarat Al Youm newspaper.

Balwinder Sahani, who owns a Dubai-based property management company, spent AED 33 million (around Rs 60 crore) on the “D5” number plate, in an auction organised by the road authority, recently.

He pointed out that it has been summoned the owner of the vehicle to the General Directorate of traffic today, and ask him about the timing and place of the offense.

L. G. Al Mazina told Emarat Al Youm that it has been violated the car such as any other car committed a violation regardless its plate number and it has been taken action in accordance with the law that applies to everyone without distinction.

It is worth mentioning that Dubai Police received video was posted via social networking sites showing a Rolls-Royce with the 5 D number was parked in the white rectangle that characterizes the parking of those with special need.

Despite the existence of unoccupied parking within two meters and the video showing that the owner of the vehicle got out of the car and spoke on the phone and then back and left.

L. G. Al Mazina added that the owner of the vehicle apologized for the violation and mentioned that he was not driving, according to the timing and the place where the violation was issued.

Al Mazina stressed that no one is above the law and Dubai police staff when taking action they do not look at the vehicle model or plates while on duty.

He added that that was clear in such case they violated the car after committing violation and parked the vehicle in a place for handicapped people.

He emphasized that value of the fine of the parking vehicle in places allocated for handicapped is Dh1000 in addition to 4 black points.

He added also summon the vehicle owner who is called usually to ask him about the person who was driving the car at the time of the violation to record the violation on his license.

My personal experience with Dubai Police. They are best police personnel, they are very polite, they do not distinguish whether it is local or expatriate. Law is equal to all. Also, they are very very human being there are instances, if they find it is first time without knowledge or with some genuine reason, they do not even fine. SUCH A GREAT HUMAN BEINGS ARE DUBAI POLICE. (Apart from many things like pulling the car and helping the drivers in case of car failure etc/- eventhough Police are locals). I definitely salutes the Dubai police out of real respect from the heart.

I agree that parking in Handicap zone or fire hazard is highlighted especially when you have empty parking space, but i have seen daily people committing such mistakes, for example opp. safir mall sharjah their is a super market where you find vehicle parked with double indicator with no driver inside besides main road, same near karama near manama hyper market, Abu dhabi behind woodlands etc etc that time no one cares to make a video and post...law should to be equal to everyone...

When will police in Mangalore learn and treat everyone equal and do their job? Some private school/college buses (business institutions) can park anywhere and obstruct traffic and police do not do anything to them.

    Shankar,

Offence is offence. Traffic regulations are strictly observed and punished in GCC countries. There are numerous CCTV cameras and violations are captured. D5 is not a license for everything and anything.

He had stopped just for few minutes. More over the driver was present there. Anytime, the car could have been removed.
Also note that he had occupied the gap between two reserved parking spots. Nonetheless it was an offence.

Shankar, there is no question of parking 1 min or 2 hrs in handicapped parking place. Which is exclusive for special needs people.
richness is honoring the law! More over the distinguished people actually set and example for others.

    Shankar,

In UAE there are clearly defined rules regarding what constitutes an offence. One cannot park near no parking zones or disabled area. It does not matter for how long it was parked or if the driver was in the car. Also during accidents there is no verbal disputes(like in india), rules are clearly defined, you cause the accident by breaking the rules its your fault, there are no excuses.

And other thing is that rich have a sense of entitlement. This guy might have thought if he has No.5 plate he can do anything.

I heard that once a sheik`s car was parked in a no parking zone. Police man asked to move the vehicle, dispite the driver telling him who`s vehicle it was.
