Udupi, Oct 24: A lady lodged a police complaint claiming that her in laws assaulted her on October 22. In a counter complaint, her sister in law also has complained to the police, saying that her sister in law and other members of the family had assaulted her and her relatives.
Dilshad (28), wife of Mohamed Ajmal, resident of Padutonse village, Malpe has complained that on October 22, at 6.30 pm, when she was at home, her sister in law Shameema entered her room and started searching for iron box. When Dilshad objected to it, Shameema reportedly hit Dilshad with the iron box on her head, bit her hands and hurled expletives. Her sister in law Shameema, Nazeema, who happens to be the wife of her husband's brother and Dilshad's husband Ajmal also are said to have attacked Dilshad with bare hands. When members of Dilshad's parental home came to inquire about in incident at 11.30 pm, Shameema has been accused of hitting Dilshad's elder sister, Qmarunnisa with her hand. Dilshad's husband's younger brother, Mukhthar and Bilal reportedly assaulted Dilshad's elder sister Habiba.
The counter police complaint by Shameema (35) states that when Shameema asked for the iron box from Dilshad at about 8 pm, she said that she does not have it and fought with her by hitting her on her back. Later at about 11.30 pm, Azhar, Shameer, Mubin, Baby and Qamarunnisa arrived from Dilshad's mother's house. They pushed the door and entered the house illegally and insulted them. They pulled at Shameema's hair and hit her right eye hard. The remaining people hit her on her back, waist and chest and kicked her, she said in her complaint. They also assaulted her mother and son, she stated. This complaint too is registered in women's police station.
Two police cases stand registered in Udupi police station on the basis of these complaints.
The police have begun investigation on both complaints.
