Bengaluru, Oct 25: The statement made by former chief minister of Karnataka, H D Kumaraswamy, that BJP state president and former chief minister, B S Yeddyurappa, is aware about the source and secret behind the recovery of about Rs 2.5 crore from a high court advocate inside Vidhana Soudha premises, has ruffled feathers of BJP.
Addressing a press conference at Hassan on Monday October 24 morning, Kumaraswamy had said that after recovery of about Rs 2.5 crore in a car being driven by an advocate named Siddharth from Dharwad near Vidhana Soudha, the advocate had claimed that it was being taken towards high court. Thereafter, he said he was taking it for being delivered to someone inside Vidhana Soudha. Once more, he stated that it was meant for property registration.
"But B S Yeddyurappa is the only one who knows about the source of this money, where it was meant to be delivered etc," he commented.
Hitting back at the effort being made by JDS leader to use this incident for gaining political mileage, BJP spokesman, S Suresh Kumar, reminded Kumaraswamy that Yeddyurappa had made a demand, immediately after recovery of cash, to hold high level investigation into the incident. He wanted to know from Kumaraswamy the reason behind making adverse comments two days after Yeddyurappa demanded for an investigation into the matter.
Media and politicians have differed with the cash amount seized from Rs 1.9 crore to Rs 2.5 crore.
