Madikeri, Oct 25: An application filed on September 29 this year by parents of deputy superintendent of police, M K Ganapathy at Madikeri, and his brother and sister to include them as petitioners in the case questioning the finding in the suicide case, was slated to be heard on October 24. However, the case stands postponed to December 31.
On September 29, Ganapathy's son, Nehal, had opted to withdraw from the case, by giving his approval for the 'B' report filed by criminal investigation department, which gave a clean chit to two senior police officers and a minister named in the suicide note by Ganapathy. However, in a curious turn of events, father of Ganapathy, Kushalappa, mother, Ponnamma, brother, Machayya, and sister, Sabita, had filed application in the court through their lawyer, Palaksha, seeking to make them parties to the suit. The people were curious about possible developments when the case came up for hearing on Monday as a favourable decision would have given fresh lease of life to the case. But the hearing was adjourned to December 31.
Principal civil judge (junior division) of JMFC court here, who was to hear the case, was on leave. As such, it was adjourned.
