Mangaluru, Oct 24: Urging the arrest of the student who assaulted the principal of the Milagres College, the members of the Parents Teachers Association (PTA) along with the staff of the college staged a protest in the college premises on Monday, October 24.
Speaking on the occasion Deepak D'Souza from PTA urged the authorities to arrest the culprit immediately. "It is a terrorising among the students and teachers fraternity. He has been absconding since three days and the police have not been able to arrest him. There are few behind the scenes who are trying to protect the boy. We urge the police department to bring the culprit behind the bars at the earliest.”
“The whole of the teaching fraternity has gone into a shock due to this incident. A law against the students assaulting the teachers must also be formed, similar to the law for the teachers punishing the students. " he added.
PTA member Raymond D'Cunha said “This protest is in solidarity with the principal. We want to show to everyone that the management and the staff are with the principal. We have been pained by this incident and seek justice from the authorities."
The staff later on went to their respective classes after the protest.
