Mangaluru, Oct 23: "Every member of Bajrang Dal (BD) is prepared to lay down his or her life for the sake of protecting their motherland and cows," said All India coordinator of the Dal, Rajesh Pandey.
He was speaking after inaugurating southern provincial conference of Bajrarang Dal's Karnataka unit at Sangh Niketan in the city on Saturday October 22.
520 activists drawn from 21 districts of the state have been participatting in the conference. In this connection, a public meeting is being held at 4 pm on October 23 at Kadri Maidan.
"We have an army of thousands of activists who have pledged to work selflessly for the protection of mother India. People joining Bajrang Dal are not driven by the greed of reaping political benefits or power," he stated. He said that his activists are prepared to fight against enemy countries in case war breaks out, like dedicated soldiers of Indian Army.
Noting that China has been supporting Pakistan, a sworn enemy of India, he called upon people to boycott Chinese products and thereby express their solidarity for the soldiers of the nation.
Vishwa Hindu Parishad divisional working president, Prof M B Puranik, who presided over the conference, felt that it is wrong for a nation to have different rules for Hindus and Muslims. He urged for bringing a uniform civil code into force under the notion of one country-one law. "All of us are opposed to this decision," he stated. Puranik also said that Bajrang Dal does not differentiate between people on the basis of caste, religion, economic status etc. "We are all one. The only yardstick here is that we are Hindus," he asserted.
Sharan Pumpwell, speaking on the occasion, said that Bajrang Dal activists will foil attempts if any that might be made to lay siege to Srikrihna Math Udupi.
