Chikkamagaluru, Oct 7: The second additional district and sessions court here has delivered a verdict as per which an accused who had killed his friend with a sickle over a Rs 30 dispute has been given life term.
Some time back, three men, identified as Nagesh, Suresh, and Narayan were engaged in gambling at a vacant spot by the side of Gokul Estate in Dinnekere village within the jurisdiction of Gonibeedu police station. During the game, a dispute arose between Suresh and Narayan over a payment of Rs 30. After the quarrel worsened, Narayan suddenly drew out his sickle and hit Suresh in his head.
Although Suresh, who was in critical condition, was treated, he could not be saved. The court has now found Narayan guilty of murder charge and sentenced him to life imprisonment and imposed Rs 50,000 fine on him.
