Mangaluru, Oct 1: Well-known Bollywood playback singer, Krishnakumar Kannath (Kay Kay) was in the city on Friday September 30 to take part in the programme, 'Rock Live with K K' that was presented at Forum Fiza Mall. He said he has no qualms about singing in any language, subject to the condition that the songs have meaningful lyrics.
He spoke to the media at the office of the mall. He said he had sung six songs the previous year, and that during the current year, more than six of his songs are under recording stage. "I have even sung three songs in Kannada. I have sung in Malayalam, Telugu, and Tamil too. I pay more attention to the meanings of the lines and lyrics than the language in which sing. I would like to sing only those songs that have high literary value," he confessed.
Kay Kay said that he has more interest in performing live than doing playback singing, as it enables him to interact with his fans live.
"This is my third visit to this city. The youngsters here have lot of interest in music," he said. He added that the super hit song, 'Tu Jo Mila...' from 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan' movie which he had recorded in a studio at Sydney had given him pleasant experience.
Assistant centre manager of the mall, Fayaz, was present. Later, Kay Kay belted out one song after the other in front of the audience and compelled them to jive and gyrate with his voice quality, rhythm, soulful rendering, and energetic and interactive movements around stage. It gave the people from all age groups who had assembled there an opportunity to experience his electric presence in an evening that is worth remembering for long.
