Kasargod: Four accused of robbery nabbed- stolen cash, articles recovered

Kasargod, Sep 30: Kasargod DySP M V Sukumaran led police team arrested four persons on Thursday September 29, in connection with robbery in the house of K Ravindranath Shetty at Manjeshwar Kadambar Guthu.

The arrested have been identified as Moidin Ansar (23) from Manjeshwar Kundu Kolake, Rehman Mubarak (26) from Manjeshwar Tuminadu Hilltop Nagara, Mohammed Hanif (26) from Manjeshwara Udyavar and Imthiaz (28) from Manjeshwar.

Rs 22,000 cash, a Ritz car, a Karimani chain and a diamond ring were recovered from them.

Six persons were said to be involved in the robbery. Two of them are still absconding. Investigations have revealed that gold ornaments were sold in Mangaluru and elsewhere and will be recovered soon.

The incident had occurred on September 9 at 2 am after midnight. Four robbers had threatened Ravindranath couple, brandishing swords and had decamped with 19.5 sovereign gold, Rs 22,500 cash and a Ritz car parked in the house compound. The robbers had fled in the car which was found deserted at Panambur the next day.

One of the suspects who is absconding is also an accused of attempting to murder a policeman on patrol on November 15 last year.
