Kerala man held in Goa airport with forex worth Rs 25.6 lakh


Panaji, Sep 28 (IANS): Customs officials in Goa on Wednesday arrested one person from Kerala for carrying with him foreign currency worth Rs 25.6 lakh, a statement from the central government agency's Goa unit said.

Anwar Rahiman, from Kasargode district in Kerala, was arrested by the Air Intelligence Unit of the Customs while he was boarding an Air Arabia flight for Dubai.

The currencies seized from the man included US dollars, Dirhams and Qatari Riyals valued at Rs 25.6 lakh, according to Wednesday's foreign exchange rates.
