New Delhi, Sep 22 (IANS): Chess player Yogesh Gautam on Thursday launched a crowd funding campaign to gather money for a Kashmir to Kanyakumari tour aimed at promoting the sport.
Gautam has represented India in more than 40 International Tournaments including Commonwealth Chess Championship, winning several laurels and has planned to undertake the 50,000-kilometre road trip and is seeking supporters through the crowd funding platform https://www.desiredwings.com/drive4thegame.
"In a game of chess, every move has a purpose" said Gautam, in a release.
"The objective of our trip is promoting chess in the interiors of the country and highlighting the support needed for chess at the grassroots level. Another important feature is to educate aspiring chess players about the opportunities in the game," he added.
