Police beef up security in Ponda ahead of chaturthi


Ponda, Sep 5 (TOI): Police here have stepped up security arrangements for Ganesh Chaturthi. The Ponda police sub-division summoned 35 jawans from the Indian Reserve Battalion to keep a watch over Ponda and Dharbandora talukas.

Ponda sub-divisional police officer Sunita Sawant said that three police personnel would be deployed at each public Ganesh pandal and police patrolling will be intensified to keep a check on house break-ins.
