Kundapur: G Shanker Fly Donates Maternity Ward to Govt Hospital

Kundapur, Dec 10: G Shanker family trust donated the maternity ward to government hospital here on Sunday December 9.

Speaking on behalf of the trust, the convener G Shanker said that the trust had recently been awarded the state Rajyotsava Prashasthi for its philanthropic activities in the Udupi district.

Now his family trust was pleased to donate a well-equipped maternity ward for the benefits of the poor. The ward contains a delivery hall with three beds, an operation table, a machine that can mark accurately the heartbeats of babies before birth and a phototherapy unit.

Shanker also informed the audience with a sense of satisfaction that the Mangalore AJ Hospital was recently provided with a well-equipped tempo traveler by the trust for heart patients in case of emergency aid services and transportation.

He was further happy to tell the people that first child delivered in the donated ward would get the cash award of Rs 10,000. G Shanker further thanked the medical officers, the staff and the chief guests from different political parties.
