Mangalore: Army Recruitment Rally begins in City

Mangalore, Dec 5: A recruitment rally organized by the Indian army under the aegis of Army Recruiting Office, Mangalore, Headquarters Recruiting Zone, Bangalore has already commenced at the Mangala Stadium here from Tuesday December 4.  The rally will go on till Friday December 7, said Col R Suresh, recruiting director.

He was speaking at press conference here on Tuesday December 4.

The response for the recruitment of clerks and soldier nursing assistant was poor although it had begun on Tuesday, he said 

He further said that many have trepidation over joining the Army. The rally is organized with absolute transparency thus showcasing each and every aspect clearly, he added.

This rally is organized mainly for the candidates of Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Kodagu, Hassan, Chitradurga, Chikmagalur Uttara Kannada, Shimoga and Davangere districts.

The recruitment will be held in different categories; he said and added that the said categories include soldier clerk, soldier nursing assistant, soldier general duty, soldier general duty (non-metric) and soldier tradesmen.

The said rally includes a physical test. This test includes pull-ups, 1.6 km run. It also includes medical test and physical measurement, he informed.

Hall tickets will be issued for the entrance examination once the candidates pass in the medical test, Col Suresh said.

The entrance examination will be held on Sunday January 27 in the city, he added.

The candidates must have passed SSLC, PUC or equivalent courses and must be in the age group of 17 and 23.

They should get all the necessary documents particularly education qualification certificates, 10 passport size colour photographs and caste certificate.
