Udupi, Nov 30: “Male Billu”, makkala natakotsava (children’s drama festival) will be organized by the regional resource centre of National School of Drama, Bangalore and MGM College, Manipal near here at MGM College premises from Wednesday December 5 to Sunday December 9, informed Jayaparakash Mavinakuli, principal, MGM College at press conference here on Thursday November 29.
Speaking to reporters he said that this drama festival is being organized in memory of Prema Karanth, theatre personality who expired recently.
The said festival will be inaugurated by Anuradha Kapoor, director, National School of Drama, New Delhi. TS Nagabharana, renowned film director will be the guest at the valedictory function, Mavinakuli informed.
On Saturday December 8 and Sunday December 9 a discussion on the matters concerned with children’s drama will be held, he said. Numerous experts in the field of theatre will take part in these discussions, he added.
One drama will be staged for which the entrance will be free. Nearly 20 teachers of the district will be trained for three days by Suresh Anagalli, director, Regional Resource Centre of NSD on children’s drama.
