Mangalore, Nov 28: The aggrieved residents who arrived to redress their grievances on Mangalore Special Economic Zone (MSEZ) at Bajpe parish hall, followed the Deputy Commissioner till district head quarters at 3 – 45 p m, who called off the meeting owing to the heated debate over the issues which concerned them most.
Over 200 residents, majority of them women staged protest in front of the office of district headquarter, pleading the Headquarter Assistant, Prabhakar Sharma come to their spot, in order to listen to their grievances, since the police have restrained them to enter the premises.
Moreover, Sharma has refused to heed to their demand. At last, few among the frustrated agitators walked up to Prabhakar Sharma and submitted their memorandum besides urged him to consider their grievances on compassionate grounds.
They have retreated from the spot at 7 – 00 p m, only because the sun set and they have to get back to their chores in their household, at the earliest.
