Milan, Aug 4 (IANS): Inter Milan have signed Italian winger Antonio Candreva from Rome-based football club Lazio for 22 million euros ($24.5 million), in addition to three million euros ($3.3 million) as variables.
Inter Milan said in a statement on Wednesday that Candreva has signed a five year contract and will stay in Milan until June 2020, reports Efe.
The 29-year-old is a regular member in the Italian national squad, and has decided to leave Lazio after four and a half seasons in which he played 191 games and scored 45 times.
"I am very happy and extremely determined. I'll give everything I have and try to leave my mark playing for this great club," Candreva said.
"I always wanted Inter and I'm really excited to become a Nerazzurri player at last. I hope we can be successful. I can't wait to meet my new team-mates."
Candreva is the fourth deal for Inter Milan this summer, after including Turkey's Caner Erkin, as well as Argentines Cristian Ansaldi and Ever Banega.
He thanked Lazio for the seasons spent together and "for giving me the chance to realise this dream".
Candreva actually began his Serie A career against Inter while playing for Udinese, in a goalless draw on January 27, 2008.
Since then, the Rome native has picked up 238 appearances and 48 goals in the Italian top competition.
He has also represented his country on 40 occasions, scoring four goals.
