Daijiworld Media Network - Puttur (SP)

Puttur, Jul 22: Education minister, Tanveer Sait, has ordered to retain four teachers of Haradi school, who were identified as excess during the counselling process. The minister took this decision after Divit U Rai, an eighth standard student of the school and home minister of the school, sent a message to state home minister Dr G Parameshwar.

After Parameshwar talked to the boy after receiving message, and then spoke to minister Sait, under the minister's instructions, an order was passed on Thursday to maintain status quo in Haradi school. Earlier, media advisor to the chief minister, Dinesh Amin Mattu, had promised to discuss the issue with education minister and solve the problem.

Four teachers, Yashoda, Vijaya, Shubhalata, and Lilly D'Soua, had been identified as excess staff during the counselling held at the block education office in the town on Tuesday. Divit's mother, Pratima, said that Dinesh from the office of the home minister called on Thursday to convey the information that these teachers would be retained in the said school.

The students of Haradi school, who had boycotted the classes to protest against the transfer of teachers, attended school as usual on Thursday. Members of school development and monitoring committee and city municipal councillor, Jayalaxmi Suresh, met and held discussions at the school.

Compromise on rules just because someone called? Not a good sign. You should have thought from all angles before making rules.

This type of precedents are not good and the matter should have considered before issuing the transfer order. This weakens and complicates the administration in functioning.
