State Government's Official Website Hacked

Panaji, Nov 18: The Goa government on Saturday woke up to the shock when its state information and publicity department's official website being hacked by a Turkish hacker with anti-American slogans on it.

"United states of America who feeding on and strengthening behind close doors the universal terrorists is the greatest terrorist country," reads the sentence on the website which is allegedly hacked by Huseyingazi, who claims to be a Turkish national.

Goa government has started a process of filing first information report with the police on the issue. "This is a very serious matter and we will filing FIR with the police," state chief secretary J P Singh, who also holds charge as state information secretary, stated in the morning.

The website, which otherwise has information of Goa's people in power and related people besides various government schemes, was flooded with the pictures of executions and arms seizure.

Alleged Turkish republican hacker has connected the website to www.turkmilliyetcileri.net which flashes slogans against America.

"This is a very common thing and not unique to Goa," deputy inspector general of police Ujjwal Mishra stated adding that there is no need for panic.

"Let us get a formal complaint and we will investigate into the matter," he said.
