Udupi, Nov 17: Decennial of Manasa Rehabilitation and Training Centre Pamboor was held on Thursday November at MRTC Pamboor under the presidentship of Bishop Aloysius Paul D'Souza of Mangalore. The programme began with a thanks giving mass concelebrated by Fr Vincent Monteiro, Fr Joseph Machado along with the Bishop.
The formal function was inaugurated by Shri Vinaya Kumar Sorake former MP by lighting the lamp. Bishop Aloysius Paul D'Souza of Mangalore, Lalaji Mendon MLA Kaup, for mer minister Vasanth V Salian, Jerald Fernandes, ZP member, Celestine Martis, taluk panchyat member, Sashidar Wagle, Belle panchyat president, members Leena Noronha, Gangadar Achar, Peter Mathias, Pamboor parish priest Fr Joseph Machador, Catholic Sabha president Lancy D Cunha, secretary Nigel Pereira, Manasa principal Sr Anita, managing trustee Remedia D Souza, secretary Dr Gerald Pinto were also present on the dais.
Sr Anita and Murel Premalatha presented the report of the school and the hostel. Denis D Silva, the elderly trustee of Manasa was honoured by the Bishop for his selfless service. Dr Edward Lobo introduced him to the audience.
Bishop in his presidential remarks congratulated the Trustees, the members of Catholic Sabha and requested the people to support Manasa.
The members of the staff Murel Premalatha, Helen, Padma, Sunanda who have served Manasa for ten years were honored by Vasanth V Salian.
Lalaji Mendon relesed the souvenir of Manasa. Manasa students Mukesh Nayak, Sandeep Antony D Souza, Varun Kumar and Pooja Pai who represented India in World Special Olympics were honoured by Fr Joseph Machado.
Jerald Fernandes honoured the students who represented India at the national-level.
Remedia D'Souza presented mementos to the guests. Dr Gerald Pinto proposed the vote of thanks. Alphonse D Costa compered the programme. It was followed by the cultural programme by the Manasa students.
