Mumbai FC rope in Krisztian Vadocz, Gerson Vieira for ISL 3


Mumbai, June 28 (IANS): Ahead of the third edition of the Indian Super League (ISL), Mumbai City football club on Tuesday announced the addition of Hungarian midfielder Krisztian Vadocz and Brazilian defender Gerson Vieira to their squad.

Both players are well versed in their field with a fiery brand of football to their credit. With Argentine forward Matias Defederico also joining the squad, the Mumbai franchise looks a formidable team going into the tournament.

Known for being his versatility with both defending and attacking capabilities in the middle, Vadocz represented his national side on more than 40 occasions. 

Vadocz has also showcased his talent in clubs like Osasuna, Perth Glory and FC Pune City as well.

Vieira is famous for his energetic performances with teams like Gremio, Red Bull Brazil and Athens in the Brazilian and Uruguayan first divisions.

The 23-year-old is a well-versed fullback and centre-back player and had shared the field with Neymar to gain 14 caps for the Brazil U-17 team. He also appeared in the 2009 U-17 World Cup.

Announcing the new signings, Mumbai City head coach Alexandre Guimaraes said: "Vadocz and Vieira are both highly skilled and versatile, and can play multiple positions. I have seen them carefully and they fit my requirements and vision for the team very well."

"They are great additions to the squad and I am jubilant to have them join our efforts for a successful season 3 in the ISL."
