Mangalore/Kochi Nov, 12: All six crew members of the missing cargo vessel 'M S V Lakshadweep', were traced on Sunday and are undergoing treatment at the Calicut Medical college, according to the Coast Guard station at Kavaratti.
The Kavaratti port officer A Hamza received information that the crew was traced to Beypore port in Kozhikode district early on Sunday, Coast Guard sources said here.
Hamza, quoting crew members, said the vessel capsized 90 nautical miles south west of New Mangalore port on November 8 at about 11 AM.
Local fishermen, who had put out to sea in the area spotted the crew members today at about 3 AM and rescued them. They were taken to Beypore and from there to the Calicut Medical College hospital, he said.
Earlier reports said the vessel had seven members, but it was confirmed that there were only six in it, he said adding "the crew members are exhausted and have been administered treatment".
The crew members are S Jerald, Ritten, Vijay, Johnson (all from Lakshadweep), Rigah (Tuticorin) and Hamza (Mangalore).
