M'lore: TIME to host Inter-school Science Quiz Competition on Nov 16

Mangalore, Nov 8:  Triumphant Institute of Management Education (TIME) will host an inter-school science quiz competition for the students of Class X, I PUC and II, on Friday November 16 in the Town Hall, Ganesh Hebbar V, director of TIME Mangalore centre, announced here at the press conference on Wednesday November 7.
 
The intention of organizing the competition is to encourage students to broaden their horizons of learning and thinking besides to preparing for the quiz by going through texts, with the backdrop of ground realities. The competition is designed keeping average students in mind without compromising on questions, he elaborated.
 
Each team will have two contestants and winning team will be entitled to a cash award along with merit certificates.  Moreover, all contested teams will be presented with certificates of participation. Total prize money is Rs. 20,000.  Another significant characteristic of the competition is that top-six teams will be presented with trophies, he informed.

About two hundred schools and colleges in Dakshina Kannada (DK) and Udupi districts have been invited, while  TIME has received more than two hundred entries, which comprises four hundred contestants, TIME expects more than 500 to 600 teams to compete in the event, he said.
 
Addressing media persons, he stated students can send entries through their high schools and colleges.  They can contact TIME office for registration details.
