Mumbai, Nov 7: Reports are that the latest star kid on the block Sonam Kapoor will do her next film opposite Abhishek Bachchan .

Sonam, the daughter of Anil Kapoor , who makes her debut in Sanjay Leela Bhansali ’s Saawariya , has reportedly confirmed doing Delhi 6 that will be directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra , who last made the mega hit Rang De Basanti .

Incidentally, while the casting of the male lead took Mehra quite a while and there was much speculation, the director was quite clear about the choice of his female lead.

So, while Abhishek was the original choice for the film, due to initial date problems, the film allegedly went to Hrithik Roshan .

But now reports are that the junior Bachchan is indeed doing the film.

However, Sonam is the only girl who was approached or considered for the role.

If these reports are true, then Sonam would indeed have a dream start to her career in the Indian film industry: first film is with Bhansali and the next with Mehra.

What more an actor can possibly want?
