Panaji, Nov 7: Goa's national award-winning Konkani film producer Rajendra Talak on Tuesday declared his self-imposed exile from Konkani films to protest against bureaucratic red-tapism in film financing.

"There is a government scheme in place to finance Goan films but bureaucratic hurdles have messed it up. Financial assistance is delayed citing silly reasons," Talak, who has won the national award for his Konkani film 'Aleesha', said.

Talak, while announcing his intention to quit Konkani film industry, also declared his next venture Saavariya.com , which will be made in Hindi and Marathi.

"I am in touch with two production houses who have evinced keen interest in my project. I will announce the final project sometimes in December," Talak said.

Saavariya.com is a film based on internet marriages and its shooting will span across Goa and London, the filmmaker stated.

During the last half a decade, Talak has produced Konkani telefilm 'Shitu' which won state award besides a national award winner for his film Aleesha. His latest venture is a bi-lingual film, 'Antarnaad' in Konkani and Savelee in Marathi.

Talak said that Goa chief minister Digamber Kamat honestly wants Konkani or Goan films to get the financial assistance but some black sheep at secretariat level prop up irrelevant queries, thus delaying the financial assistance.
