Mangaluru, Jun 15: “Actors and Kannada film industry should raise voice against the ongoing Yettinahole project. The project will cause suffering for people of Dakshina Kannada in future. Kannada film industry actors and technicians supported Kolar and Chickaballapur in demanding permanent drinking water project, why can’t they support the ongoing protest against Yettinahole project?,” said Yogish Shetty Jeppu, founder president of Tulu Nadu Rakshane Vedike.

He was addressing the press meet at hotel woodlands here on Tuesday June 14.

“Even people of Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Kasargod are watching Kannada movies. They should stop their step motherly treatment towards Tulu Nadu. Come and join your hands in protest against Yettinahole project,” he said.

“We will give one week time for the for Kannada film industry. They should come out with response against the ongoing project or else we will boycott Kannada films and hold stir in-front of all Kannada film theatres demanding to stop the film,” he said.

“Undivided Dakshina Kannada district has immensely contributed to the field of Kannada film industry. Actress like Leelavathi and many others went from this land. Even Kannada film runs for 100 days here,” he added.

Prashanth Rai, Zerold Tovers, Anand Amin Adyar, Siraj Adkare and others were present.
