Mumbai, June 14 (IANS): The Mumbai City FC franchise on Tuesday announced the retention of Haitian winger Sony Norde for the third edition of the Indian Super League (ISL) football tournament.
Norde recently played for his country in the Copa America Centenario tournament. Haiti were eliminated in the first round. He has represented his country 21 times.
Norde was loaned to Mohun Bagan after last year's ISL, helping the club to a Federation Cup triumph. He was also named the 2015-16 I-League season's best player for Mohun Bagan.
The 26-year-old scored three goals and created three during his debut ISL season last year.
Norde said in a release, "I'm glad to have signed with Mumbai City FC again. I can't wait to get back to training with the team and meeting the fans."
Team co-owner Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor said, "We're delighted to have Sony back. He's been one of our best players and is coming off a great season in the I-league as well. He was one of the first names that we wanted back and are glad to have him wearing our colours."
