Udupi, Nov 5: The 74th All India Kannada Sahitya Sammelan (AIKSS) will not be able to fulfill the real needs of literature, cautioned writer G Rajashekhar here on Sunday November 4.
He was speaking at the inauguration of the reception committee office of the Sauharda Sahitya Sammelan. It was organized by a progressive group as a protest against the ‘Domination of Sangh Parivar’ at the 74th All India Kannada Sahitya Sammelan.
Rajashekhar criticizing the Sammelan further stated that it will simply be a fair for people to congregate and disperse. At the Sammelan the speech of the president of the 74th All India Kannada Sahitya Sammelan L S Seshagiri Rao, will not focus on these issues. The reason behind this is that Seshagiri Rao is associated with Sangh Parivar, he pointed out.
According to Rajashekhar the State is facing problems of communalism, globalization, privatization and the suicide of farmers due to agrarian crisis. “The aim of the Sauharda Sahitya Sammelan is to attract the attention of the entire State to the problems of coastal districts”, he added.
