Mangalore, Nov 4: Children’s Fest, like the multi-district children's fest ’07, provide platform for children and parents to interact with each other. This also boosts the confidence of the children. Those children who participate in these children’s fest learn by themselves that participating is more essential than loosing or winning, said Yatish Baikampady of Rotaract Club, said here on Sunday, November 4.
He was delivering the inaugural address at multi-district children's fest ’07, organized by Rotaract Club - Mangalore Central, held at Sharada Vidyalaya, Kodialbail, in the city.
The chief objective of such programmes will be to bring out talents of children. Now-a-days children need to be encouraged in every sphere, said Satish, zonal business manager, AIRTEL, the chief guest for the occasion.
Shawn D'Silva, president of Rotaract Club, presided over the function.
Kishan Kumar, chairman of Rotaract Club was also present on the occasion.
Around 500 children from more than 75 schools participated in the fest. Children from Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts were invited. The club's intention is to encourage children. The club had also the interest of parents while organsing the programme, Yatish Baikampady said while speaking to daijiworld correspondent.
The club is aiming at ending ‘apartment-culture’ where parents and children are confined within four walls. The fest also broadens the intellectual horizons of children. The fest aims at promoting ‘global-family’ where parents treat their children at par with other children. Hence, the festival will definitely change parents' attitude, he added.
Radhika, convener of Rotaract Club, was also present during the inaugural ceremony.
Preethika, acting secretary of Rotaract Club, proposed vote of thanks and Jaya Bharathi R, show room coordinator of AIRTEL and Nayaz Baksh of Rotaract Club, Mangalore Central compered the programme.
