Udupi, Nov 3: The ETTIN 07, the annual All-India B-School Meet was held here at Nitte under the auspices of the Justice K S Hegde Institute of Management on Friday November 2.
Delivering the inaugural speech after the opening ceremony of the ETTIN 07, Kushal Jain, managing director of Apar group of Industries, Mumbai emphasizing on the need to have self confidence in one’s abilities declared that the one special quality which all world famous business leaders possessed is that “they had enormous faith in their own capabilities” including faith in God.
According to Jain when one talks of business leaders, the names of Dhirubhai Ambani, IT king Bill Gates or Steve Jobs of Apple Computers immediately come to the forefront. They built their own business empires due to their tremendous faith in their own capabilities, he declared. “An effective business leader should dream big, clear vision is a result of these dreams”, Jain said, giving his mantra for success that today’s generation too should dare to dream big like Ambani, Gates and Steve.
Prof Sudhir M, staff convener and Nagaprasad, student convener of ETTIN 07, also spoke on the occasion. According to them more than 20 B-Schools from Kochi, Bangalore, Mysore, Hubli and Kannur would be participating in the two-day meet.
The function was presided over by N K Thingalaya, noted economist and chairman of the Academic Council of JKSHIM, Nitte. Speaking on the occasion he opined that traditional Indian values are so crucial that today, all successful companies of the world are imbibing these values and functioning with a difference.
