Detailing as why meeting will be once again convened on Sunday, he said ‘they have learnt over the years that nothing can be achieved without the support of general public. Thus they have decided to take people into confidence in the wake of lukewarm response by the people of the district."
People of Coastal Karnataka lack determination. It is the time to have determination cutting across political and religious lines, association limits, differences of opinions in order to press the railway authority to remain impartial with Karnataka, he informed.
Various strategies will be discussed like how to take the fight forward to press authority to withdraw the extension of Matsyagandha express to Tiruvanathapuram, resume Mangalore-Bangalore train services at the earliest and take earnest efforts not to cause injustice to Karnataka and the Kannadigas, he said.
Dakshina Kannada (DK) and other coastal districts of the state have umpteen numbers of associations, organizations and NGOs working under various names for the same cause. The committee will be chalking out plans to bring all of them under one umbrella which serves as the prime issue in the meet, he added.
The committee is also thinking of getting support from DK residents residing in other parts of the country. The people should plunge into the movement for the cause of the society, irrespective of caste and creed. Bringing people under common agenda must be carried out immediately. Representatives must give their standings publicly, opined Uday Kumar Irvattur.
