Dropping of action - Justice Adi might attend office from Monday

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, May 28: As state assembly speaker, Kagodu Thimmappa, has given a ruling, dropping all further processes in connection with the removal of Justice Subhash B Adi from the post of state Lokayukta. Justice Adi is expected to begin attending office from Monday May 30 onwards. It may be recalled that Justice R B Budihal committee, which was formed to go into allegations against Justice Adi, had given him a clean chit, after finding no evidences to back any of them.

Kagodu Thimmappa had announced that further processes pending in the house about the resolution moved by MLA, Tanveer Sait and others to remove the Upa Lokayukta have been dropped.

Although Justice Adi met former state advocate general, B V Acharya, on Friday and held discussions with him, he did not reveal his plan about resuming duty. On Friday, assembly speaker, Kagodu Thimmappa, had stated that Justice Adi will continue as the Upa Lokayukta of the state as Justice Budihal committee formed by the chief justice of Karnataka high court to whom the resolution to unseat Justice Adi had been submitted, had found the allegations to be baseless. When media persons wanted to know whether the government is facing embarrassment on this issue, he told them to pose this question to the government itself.
