Udupi, May 26: Under the auspices of the city's Shri Sode Vadiraja Mutt Education Trust (SSVMET), Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology & Management (SMVITM), Bantakal, here and the district's Shri Krishna Math, Paryaya Shri Pejavara Adhokshaja Math; a 'CET-KEA pre-counseling and career guidance programme' will be arranged on Sunday May 29 at 10.00 am at 'Rajangana', Sri Krishna Math, Udupi. The programme will benefit all student aspirants of the district and the coastal region, having appeared for Common Entrance Test (CET)-2016 conducted by Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA). The programme will be inaugurated by Shri Vishwesha Theertha Swamiji of Paryaya Shri Pejavara Adhokshaja Matha, Udupi.
Balachandra Bhat, nodal officer of KEA-UK, Karwar, will be the main resource person, addressing on ‘CET counseling process: what is new this year?’ and will answer their FAQs and clarify their common doubts regarding allotment of seats.
Dr Vijayendra Rao, a renowned dentist from the district will address the gathering on 'prospects and Challenges of pursuing a career in engineering, medical and allied fields'. This will be followed by a short presentation by prof Dr Thirumaleshwara Bhat, principal, SMVITM, on 'profile of a promising, prospective engineering institution: SMVITM, Bantakal'.
It is also planned to provide infrastructural support (free internet browsing) to needy students including facilitating ‘entry of options for admission round through on-line (internet)’ for seat allotment by KEA, at Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology & Management, Bantakal, Udupi and also at Shri Sode Vadiraja Mutt Education Trust Office, Bhoovaraha Complex, Car Street, Udupi. This facility will be extended along with necessary technical guidance, from 9 am to 5 pm on the specified days as announced by KEA, free of cost, in the general interest of the student community and the public.
All Karnataka CET admission aspirants, students seeking admission to professional courses and parents are invited to attend this pre-counseling guidance programme on May 29 and make use of both the above mentioned facilities.
